In Finder/View Options (Apple-J) you can set icon and text sizes. You
can also change the settings within individual programs, e.g. in Mail
and Safari.
How does that work then? I know you can vary the size of file names in
window views globally or for individual windows but are you talking
about setting font sizes or scaling in the individual application
preferences? The only flaw in the process I have found is when working
with text at high res with the need to default typing layouts to 150%+
to be able to read while working; it tends to give a misleading
impression of what things are going to look like when printed I find
but that is at 1600 x 1200. I find it all works much better by
resetting to 1280 x 1024 in the screen prefs.
