Is it just me or is Picasa a shameless rip off of iPhoto?
I am trying hard to understand (for discussion purposes) how Picasa manages files, as it is not clear from the support information. They claim that editing is non destructive and the original is maintained as was. The assumption is that it creates a clone which is edited and takes on the original's identity. However, it also says that to 'fix" the changes you need to export to a new file. Is it possible that Picasa keeps a database of all editing instructions for a photo and applies them each time the file is opened? In which case, how does this compare to iPhoto? Any thoughts chaps?
