The only circumstances in which my TiBook awakens with the lid cloded is if I plug an USB or firewire device. I routinely put a Lombard (that is permanently connected to ethrenet) to sleep via Apple Meny -> sleep (lid open) and I've never found it in awake state later on (worse of it all, occasionally, it doesn't awake from sleep at all :(( Also, if the Lombard sleeps by itself, thus leaving the Ethernet port active (I can see the light on on the router), trying to access it or request its printer or whatnot from another computer, would not awake it. I'm not sure about mouse movements either. In the PB case, if the machine is in "sleep proper", i.e. not only screen darkened, moving the attached mouse has no effect. If it's not yet in sleep but the screen is dark, moving the mouse will result in the screen turning on. Having said that, I've never owned a mac desktop and it's ages since I work with one, but hopefully PB experience can help! cheers, gianfranco -- Telefonieren Sie schon oder sparen Sie noch?
