It is. On examination the cover reveals a confusing little sticker
which, apparently, says the CD will play on a Audio CD home player and
on computers that are not Macs and have Windows 95 installed. Is there
any reason why I should not feel just a little persecuted? I will not
be buying any of Annie's music again (and I shall tell her so). The CD
loaded up in iTunes, I pressed the Import button and it went into a
fit. I could not stop or force quit iTunes, eject the CD or reboot the
iBook. This is not just a limitation, it is an act of aggression which
caused me a lot of hassle. I shall inspect the small print more
carefully in future and thought I would share it, assuming RCA are
still doing this to Mac owners.

Copy protection by any chance? I've got a couple of CDs that come with
built-in players and when iTunes gets to the last proper track it just
'sticks'. I've had to force quit iTunes and restart the Mac before I
could eject the CD.
...and they weren't XCP-protected disks from Sony, before anyone asks
