Hi,

I run a 7500 (with G3 PCI upgrade) with OS8.6 and it is happily running broadband through an ADSL router connected via the ethernet port. I would have thought you would be able to connect to one of these using 8.1 (and even 7.1? Not my area of "expertise").

I also have a generic USB PCI card fitted to the 7500 and I would guess most such cards will work with the Mac provided you add the appropriate extension from Apple's support site. USB Mass Storage Device IIRC is the title of the extension but I don't know if it works with 8.1 (I'm on the ageing Panther iMac so I can't check right now). If you do go to 9.1 it will be there anyway.

Hello,
I bought a 17" monitor and with it I have also got
a powermac 6500/250. It has 8.1, working but no discs.
Can someone out there kindly spare a
installation disc for 9.1 because otherwise I cannot
connect broadband. I could also do with a restoration
disc.
I'll be happy to pay a reasonable price and the postage.
Is there a PCI card or something which couls add usb
capability to this computer and to a G3.
cheers
