Hi,
as Herbert already told you Sun is now putting dedicated engineer time
in the MacOSX/Aqua porting effort. I will now be working basically
fulltime on improving the the Mac port.
My background up to now does not include any Mac experience; so I'll
probably have a lot of questions at first. However I can bring in years
of experience in vcl on other platforms. A little info on me: unlike
Herbert's rather interesting life, I joined StarDivision (the original
creator of StarOffice) right after getting my degree in physics. In the
meantime I switched company three times without my desk moving a
centimeter: StarDivision became StarOffice GmbH which was bought by Sun
Microsystems. During that time I mostly worked on platform dependant
code mostly X11, but also printing, clipboard, file system and other stuff.
But enough about me, let's get to work. Let us make this port a huge
success !
