Hi all,
It is my understanding that libxml (/usr/lib/libxml2.2.dylib) is
part of Mac OS X and thus available on every computer we target for
Mac OOo 3.0. (I just checked on a naked Mac OS X 10.4 Intel Mac
mini, but my understanding may of course be incorrect---is there
any reliable source what exactly is available for our baseline?)
The current baseline is -somewhat- given by the configure command
line used for the official builds. And can IMHO easely be modified.
Then, there should be no reason to use OOo's private copy of libxml
from module libxml2, right? Then, we should change config_office/
configure to make --with-system-libxml at least the default on Mac
OS X, and at best (and if possible) remove that switch (and its
negation --without-system-libxml) completely for Mac OS X, right?
I completely agree, but did you try already ? I remember some issues
because of other dependencies.
This would simplify certain things for me on CWS sb83, so if there
are no objections I will go ahead with those changes.
Sure, and I completely agree : more --system-thing=true we have,
better it is !
BTW: --with-stlport=no leads to tons of warnings, caused by Apple
stl headers themselves ... :-/

Eric Bachard
