The build instructions on the wiki were written at a time when the
parallel build was smooth and we had enough proof for this on both
Intel and PPC Mac. Nowerdays most devs have Intel Macs and so the
lone guarenty is that parallel build on Intel Mac, at least for me
with -P2, is stable and no build breaks occure.

Next time, I'll try -P2 ( I'm used to see -P4 work for me )

I'm doing a clean pull right now, and will try to build again,
but will replace P4 with P2 [I'm going to keep a virgin copy of
the pull this time]. It looks like one of the things I can
contribute is tracking down WHY I had [have] so much trouble on
10.5.1 with the build

This really helps us a lot. As stated we don't have many builders
for PPC left. I only know Maho and Christian Lohmaier also building
on PPC.

Not sure you counted me .. but FYI, I do PowerPC builds too, even on Linux PPC ! ;-)

I would also suggest that you first do a single threaded build with just dmake in source root. This is the common way of build. If this
build is ok you can start with parallel building.

Maybe, maybe not. The problem I see is, Russel is building on Leopard, and AFAIK, Leopard build has some issues on PowerPC. Currently, I have a big issue with Tiger PowerPC builds, and if I want a build to work on Leopard PowerPC, I must build it on Leopard. Else, issues like filepicker issue occur, and freeze the office.

For the record, I did both OOH_m4 and SRC680_m243 builds on Tiger, and none of them work both on Tiger and Leopard. Still searching why ... IMHO, some work is still neded on PowerPC, while nothing particular occurs on Intel. Maybe Apple could tell us more ? ( ;-) )

Eric
