Yes. Because I get the same error message. If we like to we can file issues but the *official tesstool* is the one in the wiki. See the above mentioned url for more informations and download. Thanks to bosi (Thorsten Bosbach?) I was able to configure it right or at least he gave me the hint where to look for my own mistake. Under Leopard it automaticly launches the X11 version of 2.4.0RC4. For Tiger I haven't tested it yet but it should work if you launch X11 before you start the testtool. If any more issues occure for you we surely find a time and date for an IRC session.
