What Jerry is alluding to is the Repair Disk Permissions capabilities built
into Apple's Disk Utility program for Jaguar.

And if you're not running Jaguar, you can download from VersionTracker the
following repair utility.

If that doesn't help, try to write down the exact error that is generated.
I had something similar happen with Anne Cartwright and deleting the file at
the end of this path cured it.

/Library/Keychains/username
