The secure checkbox uses a protocol called SSL to establish an  
encrypted connection to the SMTP server. This is the same protocol  
used to protect private connections on Web sites such as Amazon and  
eBay.

The user name and password proves to the server that you are really  
allowed to use the server. This is a spam deterrent because it  
prevents a spammer from sending 2.43 gazillion emails after hijacking  
your wireless connection. It may also allow us to use the Insight  
server from outside the Insight network. This message was sent from  
out of network through the Insight server.
