Do people have a feeling on whether the high price for the airport is worthwhile ($179?!)? Netgear has an n router for $80 MSRP.
Bill, that $80 N router is likely a single band 2.4GHz router. If you are going to get an N router I would at least get one that supports the higher 5GHz band. They cost a bit more but it's worth it to be out of the overcrowded 2.4 GHz band.
Linksys has a nice dual band that you can configure two different radios with different security and different bands and get great performance out of. I just installed one at a client's and it works great with a wide variety of Macs. It is the WRT-400N, and is available on Amazon for about $135. Best buy had them for significantly more.
