I must tell you all, whether i need to or not, maybe I will write an
article again just to see what it is all about, I haven't done any
serious writing since when? , but I need to get this NeoOffice on my
computer to see what you are talking about. This dialogue seems to
go on and on and I am playing left field.

TO JONATHAN AND HARRY -- I downloaded NeoOffice several years ago

I gave it up. I think maybe it was because it didn't have a data
base (or at least not one I could easily transfer my AW data base
to). That's no longer a problem.
If you have an old NeoOffice from several years ago, throw it away!
NeoOffice is always being upgraded, and the latest one is
noticeably better than even last summer's release. There are minor
upgrades at least monthly and major upgrades a couple of times per
year.
Also, NeoOffice does have a powerful database program, called Base.
It can create stand-alone databases and also talk to SQL servers.
(I've used it occasionally to get data from a PostgreSQL server
that is in Detroit.) It's not as easy to use as Appleworks or
Bento, but it can do a lot more.
One other note about NeoOffice: some people don’t like it because
it's slow to launch. This is because it's based on a Java, and the
Java run-time machine has to load. Once it's running, it runs well.
I just leave it running all the time in the background so there's
no wait while it launches.
