Stuart,

AT&T just (a couple of days ago) announced new data plan rates that go into 
today. So if you already have AT&T you can trade out your "feature phone" for 
an iPhone for as little as $15 a month.

It's now $15 for 200 MB and $25 for 2 GB of data a month. 

The only iPhone plan used to be $30 for unlimited data on top of having a 
regular phone. 

Depending on how you look at it, AT&T either just gave you a break or took 
another bite out of your backside.
