We had an older G5 that locked up recently so the end user pulled the plug on it, then it wouldn¹t restart. I had them unplug the power cord from the back of the computer and then plug it back in. Immediately the power light on the front came on even though the power button had not been pressed. Had them remove the mouse and keyboard and tried to restart the computer with no luck so we also removed the monitor and then it restarted fine. I can remotely access the computer so once I could see it was up and running through Apple Remote Desktop, the end user plugged the monitor back it and it is working fine for now. Just wondered if this is indicative of a problematic video card, monitor or some other issue. Thought is was strange that the power button would light without the computer being turned on. Anyone seen this type of behavior before?
