Just got a letter from the CEO if Charter about the new company. Some details:
New name: Spectrum Another point that stood out for me harkening back to a conversation we had on this list a few weeks back: They are in the process of "bringing over 10,000 outsourced customer service jobs back to the United States.” I guess the rumor was true. That still does not mean that their customer service will automatically be stellar (look at AT&T!), but you should be able to understand what they’re saying. (Well, unless they’re from Pittsburgh, any Pennsylvania Dutch community or quite a few places in New England.) Router update: I put a software router (PFSense) on a virtual machine (with VMWare) on one of the computers in my closet and (after getting the firewall rules tweaked just right) now I get up to the full 200 Mbps that my service level promises. I test it several times a day and once yesterday it even got MORE than 200 Mbps. I’m thoroughly satisfied. The problems I had before not being able to get my full bandwidth were entirely the fault of an underpowered router. [On a TOTALLY unrelated note: I happen to have a used router for sale!] ::-) j -- Jonathan Fletcher jonat...@fletcherdata.com Kentuckiana FileMaker Developers Group Next Meeting: 6/28/16 _______________________________________________ MacGroup mailing list Posting address: MacGroup@erdos.math.louisville.edu Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/macgroup@erdos.math.louisville.edu/> Answers to questions: <http://erdos.math.louisville.edu/macgroup/>
