A suggestion for one of the future revisions - you might want to consider a
mechanism that lets the use know if their setting of prefs (like helper
apps) was successful or not.
Apparently, since doing so is a crapshoot depending on what apps are
currently open, it would be helpful to provide the user with feedback if
their settings changes took hold.
