Without an ethernet hub, I'd say what you're trying to do is impossible.
You should be able to pick up a used 10BT 5 port hub for under $20.
If you *really* want to go hubless, this should work: connect the 7100 and
the iMac via ethernet crossover, then hook up the 6300 to the 7100 via
LocalTalk (serial ports). Use the LocalTalk Bridge control panel (free
download from Apple) on the 7100. Be sure to leave the 7100's AppleTalk
settings to Ethernet. How's that for clear?
