Power port?

Seriously, here's a page which describes MSN and AIM integration. My concern
is that the clients described are old. Some have developed Auto-Config
buttons which circumvent port closing. It's possible that that kind of work
didn't get into the Mac clients.

Something else you can do is look at the TCP connections info. I know that
Interarchy(Anarchie) used to do that. Maybe something else can do the trick
(IPNetMonitor or the like.)
