For my "money" the easiest way to go, and probably about "cost neutral" would be to spend about $50 on a router. I think the software you would need would cost at least that much. Connect your modem to the router and the router to your hub. Set the router to do DHCP (Dynamic Host Control Protocol - a way to get addresses assigned to each of your machines automatically) and you are in business.
