We use a shareware on our iMacs called SwitchRes that may work for you. We have Hitachi TVs that require 640X480 at 60 Hz. It shows all of the available resolutions of your video card. Works perfectly.

Exactly what kind of G3 Powerboook do u have? Some will allow u to set up
a 2nd screen, others will only allow mirroring of the PB's LCD. Tell us
what kind of Mhz the thing is running. Then we'll have a better idea.

I think it is a Lombardo or Pismo- it has built in USB and Firewire. I
don't think it is going to work. I am able to choose the 640x480
resolution, but my guess is it's not 60 mhz because even at that
resolution it still won't show up on the projector and mirroring is not an
option (won't show up in the control panel). I have an older G3 that is a
Wallstreet- no USB, that will display on the projector, I guess it is at
60 mhz, but I'm guessing because that setting is not a choice, just the
resolution. Any ideas? I think this newer powerbook just won't connect,
let me know if I am wrong!
