Clark, you are correct, the LinkSys dox say it will not pass AppleTalk packets, only TCP/IP. And the Etherprint dox say it will not do TCP/IP. I sheepishly didn't post this info because:
1. a report on this forum of using a router that isn't supposed to pass AppleTalk packets with an Etherprint (I have made contact with this person outside this forum, waiting for response).
2. I can use shared printing from my wireless Mac to the Epson when the Epson is cabled to the wired Mac. Ithis passing AppleTalk packets through the router? If not, is there a simple way to test passing AppleTalk packets? I have a wired G3 and a wireless G4 on the network right now.
This could work. I know that printer sharing can work with an already networked printer. I had to disable one yesterday that got shared for no known reason. This was sharing built into the Epson chooser driver. Now whether the sharing can be done via IP, I don't know.
There was going to be a 3, but I think now that testing out 2 would be the best course of action. Probably obvious to most who might be reading this - can anyone advise how to test sending AppleTalk? Both machines are in OSX.
