Welcome to wireless horrors.

Many wireless gateways allow to list the ALLOWED wireless cards.
This makes it less easy when a friend's computer comes in, but it keeps
unwanted out.
Mind that uninvited might still listen to all your packets.

Ecrypt the wireless link if you do not want to publically send your visa
number ;-)

But know that 'wep' is not secure enough
(choose a loooong key)
Encrypted vpn (3des, rijndal) or ssl on top of wep gives a far better
privacy.

Not all wireless gateways support those features but most modern should.

It is allways a good policy to look at the logs to see traces of
attacks.
