I think I've found a solution.
I manually set the server ip instead of letting the DHCP to assign it.
Then I've turned off hard disk sleep on all the clients. When they went to sleep I noticed the connection failed too.
It's been 2 days now and no lost connections.
Hard disk sleep or machine sleep? I have HD sleep on on all my machines and never have a problem with losing the network connection. There is the obvious delay while the drive spins up (which is eerie when you DON'T hear the spin up). Machine sleep will definitely cause a loss of connection.
