I think Fabian is right, this is a Localtalk adaptor for a CoStar lablel printer. If you don't want it, I'll take it. I have one of their printers I use all the time, and putting it on the network would be great. >The second one is called Power Port Juggler and has 5 serial ports on >the back, three of which are GeoPort ports. I suspect it to be some >kind of serial hub to connect several serial devices to a single port, >but I have been totally unable to get any information about its driver. Fabian is also right about this (as is your assumption). It is a serial port switch box. It was supposed to be an automatic switcher. With the aid of the software that came with it, it was supposed to detect when you started an application, or choose a printer that needs a specific port, and swap over to it. I had the earlier model that didn't support the GeoPorts. It worked only ok. Alas, I was always VERY disappointed with it, because it didn't work with Global Village modems, which was one of the devices I wanted to connect to it. They kept swearing support would come in a later release of the software, but before it did, they moved to the GeoPort version, and then stopped updating the software for the older unit. That was on top of the fact that half the time it failed to detect that I needed a specific port, so more often then not, I found myself using the key combo to force switch the ports (thus defeating the point of having bought a $100 automatic switch box over a $15 manual one). In the end, they simply went out of business, probably due to a less then stellar product (they went out of business before USB was an issue, so it wasn't due to lack of a need). Last I looked, the drivers were a bit hard to locate. If you want to try to use it, I may have one of the versions of drivers that support the GeoPort model. If you check macdrivermuseum.com they may have it (if the site is back up, if not, subscribe to the mailing list on yahoo groups and ask there, I think someone has a mirror of the site). If it helps any, the company name was Momentum. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- MacNetwork is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
