Hi,

Yesterday I frequented my local Fry's (GA) to pick out a few items for my
office in Houston. I noticed that there is a new way to extend a wireless
network: a plug-in set of adapters, similar to Powerline ethernet adapters. For
these
devices, the first one is connected to a router via an ethernet cable, and
plugged into a nearby AC jack.

Then, the second device is plugged into an ac jack wherever you want the
wireless signal extended, and viola! The ac plug unit itself sends out the
signal.
Neat.

ANYWAY, my question is this: an associate at Fry's told me that in order for
a wireless repeater to work at all, it should be of the same brand as the
wireless router. Is that true?
