SmartDisk 5GB FireWire hard drive on offer for free (with a minor catch).
Apple has added a SmartDisk FireFly promo, following up the Mac trade-ins for non-US
buyers, and the rebate coupon for US purchasers of Power Mac G4s.
The FireFly giveaway applies to any purchaser of any Power Mac G4 or PowerBook G4, so
long as you upgrade one of the following when you purchase from the AppleStore:
"Memory, hard drive, optical drive, graphics card, removable storage, SCSI support or
AirPort card."
So whack in an AirPort card or 128MB RAM and get yourself a free 5GB FireFly portable
FireWire drive for your trouble. FireFlys usually retail for around a couple of
hundred bucks - and there''s nothing to stop you putting a bigger hard drive in it
(after the warranty''s run out, naturally).
