MacCentral: Office X SR1 here
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
June 3rd 2002

With a slew of under-the-hood as well as cosmetic changes this is a must-have update

M$'' Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) has announced the release of the firrst update,
Service Release 1 (SR1), to its popular Office suite, as well as a new version of the
convicted monopolist''s instant messaging application Messenger. M$ has also announced
it will release a Palm Sync conduit for users of Entourage on July 15, 2002 -- the
second day of Macworld New York.

According to MacCentral, Office v. X contains 1500 performance improvements, updates,
new features and fixes that affect every application in the suite. The list of changes
and additions is of the "everything but the kitchen sink" variety and reproducing even
a fraction of them here would represent a level of plagerism that would make even Bill
Gates blush.

When I checked M$'' site at 8:30am (EST), SR1 wasn''t yet available. If you manage to
snag SR1, pop us a note and we''ll post the direct link for all the world to use.

Analysis: There isn''t a Palm Conduit for the Windoze version of Office is there?
It''s good that we (will) have it, but this is something everyone should have,
including the Linux folks. But those are entirely different rants...
