Rumor: Jaguar To Roar In Early?
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
June 13th 2002

I Spy with my little eye...

Our favorite dead-accurate scoop site SpyMac has predicted that Jaguar, originally
slated for September, will now ship no later than August 22.

SpyMac also say that the recent release of 10.1.5 was meant for MacWorld New York in
July, but was shifted forward.

Analysis: Our take is there is no particular advantage in Apple shipping Jaguar
slightly earlier, while the allegedly early release of 10.1.5 makes only slightly more
sense. A number of problematic bugs have been found in 10.1.5, detailed extensively
elsewhere, but this wouldn''t be a first for an Apple (or any other company''s) OS
release.

As Jaguar''s features are an open secret, we gyess that Steve could simply announce at
MWNY that it will ship "in 4 weeks". But again, so what?

Unless, of course, Jaguar ships with some very new, very nice, Quartz Extremish-type
hardware. Which also, coincidentally, ship 4 weeks after MW.

G5 anyone?
