MacSoft sets Max Payne ship date set
By Michael Flaminio, Insanely Great Mac
June 13th 2002
MacSoft sends word that Max Payne has gone golden master and will head to stores soon.
Mac users will soon have Max Payne on their software shelves. MacSoft sent a note
Thursday announcing the game has reached gold master and is heading out to be packaged
and distributed. The game is set to appear in stores starting July 16.
Mac Payne is an action/adventure game with the gamer playing the title role character.
Max Payne is sort of a modern anti-hero, hard-boiled cop in a noir storyline. The game
comes from Remedy Entertainment and was published on the Playstation 2 by Rockstar
Games, who has made name for themselves for putting out gritty games outside the
mainstream. While fairly violent, the game has a pretty good storyline and mixes the
game play and cut scenes well in telling the story.
>From MacSoft: "In case you aren''t familiar with this title, Max Payne is a man with
>nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed
>for murder, and now hunted by cops and the mob. Max is a man with his back against
>the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win.
"Game features include photo-digitized textures, bullet-time game play, self-adjusting
difficulty levels, and painstaking attention to details. The incredible storyline is
addictive....weekends will be lost playing this game!"
