The MacUpdate 'Top 10' and this week's IGM hot picks await within
Mail, which is part of Jaguar, offers some really great features not the least of
which is its SPAM filtering functionality. However, as good as it is, there is room
for improvement -- there's always room for improvement.
For example, Jim Burton's SpamCopSend 1.0 is an AppleScript application that works
with Mail.app in Mac OS X 10.2 to send all junk messages in your "junk" mailbox to a
SpamCop reporting address. SpamCopSend is free for Mac OS X 10.2 and up.
Andreas Anabb's Mail Scripts 1.2.1 is a package of AppleScripts that automates certain
task under Jaguar's Mail and Address Book apps. With scripts that provide rule-based
SMTP-server selection and export address groups, as well as create mailing lists, Mail
Scripts is free and requires X.2.
SpamSieve 1.1 extends the X versions of PowerMail, Mailsmith and Entourage (a part of
Office X) via AppleScript with Bayesian spam filtering. This set of scripts learns
what you consider spam and what you wish to keep so filtering improves over time.
SpamSieve costs $10.

released MacVCD X 4.1. This release of the popular Video CD player adds: support for
Super VCD playback (with QuickTime MPEG2 installed); adds playback in a re-sizeable
floating window; Jaguar compatibility; and improved playback on older Macs. This
update is a free update for registered users and costs $19.95. Upgrade pricing for
MacVCD OS 9 clients and bulk discounts is also available.
