The beginnings of a broadcast dynasty or radio for the rest of us?
The MacTV Network has announced the launch of MacRadio.com, the new identity of the
Network's expanding Internet radio service.
The Gamesome Mac, with hosts Sean Smith and Omaha Sternberg, starts off MacRadio.com's
programming on Monday evenings (in American time zones) and offers Mac gaming news,
reviews, interviews, and commentary. On Tuesday evenings, Mac Help Radio with Dru
Richman offers Mac troubleshooting expertise.
Over the next month, MacRadio.com will announcing three additional weekly talk radio
programs that it expects to air Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. These shows
will offer Mac information and entertainment five nights a week. Included in this new
schedule are two well known Mac personalities, as well as a new show centered around a
very exciting new event in the Mac community. MacRadio.com is continuing to develop
additional radio shows for the future.
"We're very excited about bringing diverse content with entertaining hosts and guests
for the Mac web community in an interesting and seldom used medium of radio," said
Robert Aldridge, owner of the MacTV Network. "Our expanding schedule of Internet
radio programs provides a great opportunity for advertisers to reach a captive
audience of rabid Mac enthusiasts."
The new MacRadio.com presence on the web complements the Network's expanding lineup by
offering a Web address that's easy to remember and an improved design that's easier to
navigate, making listening to broadcasts as simple as loading a Web page.
Additionally, archives of live broadcasts are posted within 24 hours in both streamed
and MP3 formats for listening on iPod or a favorite mobile MP3 player.
MacTeens
In related news, MacRadio has announced a collaboration with MacTeens Radio, the
premier live radio program for teens excited about Macintosh.MacTeens Radio will
broadcast live exclusively in QT6's MPEG-4 audio format every other Saturday at 4pm
Eastern, 1pm Pacific and will last one hour.
The inaugural show of their first season on MacRadio begins on Saturday, September 28,
2002 at the above times with featured guest, Jeremiah Cohick, teen switcher and Mac
missionary from Apple's "Real People" ad campaign.
