PC-Mac-Net v2.1 released

The company is offering their flagship app at special two-for-one pricing
Lava Software is now shipping PC-Mac-Net FileShare v2.1, a product that allows users
to transfer files easily and securely between Macs and Windoze machines over a LAN or
the Internet. It also provides highly secure Mac-to-Mac and Windows-to-Windows
networking for workgroups.
New features include large file support (ie. can work with files larger than 2GB), a
'Ping' button to test network connectivity, an increase in encryption strength to
896-bits, easy opening of transferred files, an improved dynamic help system and
optimized network scanning.
Buy one, get one free
Lava Software is also currently offering two licenses for the price of one - for every
license purchased, a second is included for free. That means buyers only need to
purchase a single copy to transfer files over a LAN or share files with a friend over
the Internet. Schools and offices can set up a large network for half the price for a
limited time.
Further, those who prefer to before they buy and download a free
(limited-functionality) demo that allows users to evaluate PC-Mac-Net FileShare for an
unlimited time. The full version is priced at $24.95 (SRP) per license (one license is
required for each computer), with volume and school discounts available. Purchasers
get download access to the current version of the software for all platforms, as well
as free upgrades for one year.
Versions are available for Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP, MacOS Classic (8.6 or higher)
and MacOS X.
Editor's note: This appeal of app, like Dave, has to be diminished with Jaguar's
much-improved Mac-PC networking support. However, this app does offer superior
encryption as well as Internet sharing.
