Mactech brings in Mark as ed-in-chief

The magazine of Mac programming gets a new top man
MacTech Magazine is proud to announce that it has brought on Dave Mark, renowned book
author and columnist, as editor-in-chief. In addition, MacTech's celebrated "Getting
Started" column returns to bring X, Cocoa, Objective-C and more to those interested in
getting started with programming.
For those that don't remember, Dave Mark penned MacTech's "Getting Started" column for
seven years. Dave has an extensive background in Macintosh and Unix development and
has written more than a dozen best-selling books, including Learn C on the Macintosh
and the Macintosh C Programming Primer. He was vice president, academic and discover
products, at Metrowerks, and has served on a number of board of directors, giving him
tremendous experience to draw from.
"Dave not only has an incredible grasp of what it takes to create a 'Getting Started'
column, but he understands what approach to take for high-level articles enabling
readers to draw the most from them," said Neil Ticktin, publisher, MacTech Magazine.
"An icon in the community, a long time supporter of the magazine and a man with an
insight on how to explain things -- we welcome Dave with open arms as the
editor-in-chief of MacTech."

Editor's note: Other than the return of the "Getting Started" column, the press
release makes no mention of any expected changes as the result of this swapping of
heads. The man's business background, however, could be indicative of a more
bottom-line focussed approach at the long-time programmer's resource.
