AliasMenu 3.0 hits the streets

Here's a utility that can greatly simplify X app, document navigation
Beno�t Widemann has announced the immediate availability of AliasMenu�3.0, which adds
user-defined menus to the menu bar. Each menu extra has a corresponding folder and the
menu automatically reflects the folder's content.
AliasMenu brings the metaphor of the old Apple menu to new heights, while keeping its
intuitive way to organize the menus' contents. Using the Finder, creating aliases and
subfolders, adding custom icons, the user takes complete control of the menu bar with
unprecedented ease and power.
"AliasMenu is incredibly unobtrusive," said Beno�t Widemann. "It doesn't eat any
valuable screen estate, and it never gets in your way. In these days where monitors
get larger and larger, it's great to make use of all that space in the menu bar
instead of cluttering the dock."
Christine Buttin, who co-authored this new version, said: "I can add a new menu in a
matter of seconds, put anything I need in it, give it a nice icon and even assign
keyboard shortcuts, all from a Finder window! I'm so used to AliasMenu that I can't
imagine my Mac without it. It's the greatest addition to Mac�OS�X's interface."
Version 3 has been entirely rewritten for Mac�OS�X and brings many new features,
including
the ability to mix menus with Apple's system menus and third parties menu extras; full
Jaguar compatibility (also works with 10.1); and functions keys F1-F15 are now
supported for keyboard shortcuts.
AliasMenu is $25 shareware and the upgrade from version 2 is $15, or free for recent
purchasers. It can be downloaded here.
