Keep an eye on things with Horse Menu
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

Wondering just how long your Mac has been up without a crash?

Nimatoad Software has released v1.5 of its handy-dandy Horse Menu, a tool that allows
you to easily monitor your computer. With this app installed, "an immense amount of
information is only a click away."

Horse Menu can provide information about UPS devices, applications, processes, your
CPU, memory, kernel extensions, memory usage and much, much more. You can configure
what submenus are displayed and the order in which they appear. Perhaps best of all
Horse Menu runs as a status item in your menu bar, which means its easily accessible
and configurable.

Horse Menu's features include...

... Machine Info: View detailed information about your Operating System, current user,
uptime, cpu, BUS speed, RAM, L2 Cache and BootROM.
... Network Interfaces: View a list of all enabled network interfaces on your machine.
... Memory Statistics: View how much physical memory your computer has. See how much
memory is wired (cannot be paged out), active, inactive, or free.
... Loaded Kernel Extensions: View a list of all currently loaded kernel extension,
and their version numbers.
... Power Supplies: View a list of power sources associated with your machine.
View detailed information about each power source (time to charge/drain, charge
percentage, charge status, voltage/current information, and transport type).

Horse Menu is a shareware application that is not at all limited when unregistered.
Moreover, registration is a reasonable $8.

Download it here.

Editor's note: Just downloaded and installed this widget in under two minutes. As
advertised, it provides a wealth of info on my 733MHz G4, including memory data, and
I'm happy to report I've got 495MB of idle RAM at the moment...
