Apple Releases 1GHz iMacs, Slashes eMac Prices

Consumer models get equipment boost, price cuts.

Apple today released revamped iMacs equipped with 1GHz G4  processors, DDR RAM, and 
sujpport for BlueTooth and Airport Extreme. 

The base iMac has had a $100 price hike to $1299, while the high-end 17" widescreen 
iMac has had its price slashed to $1,799. All new models feature new graphics cards 
and two 400Mb/ps FireWire port  BlueTooth and Airport cards are extra-cost options.

eMacs  remain at 700MHz or 800MHz, but prices have been reduced to $999 for the base 
Combo drive model, and the DVD-R iMac is now at a bargan-priced $1,299. The latte 
figurer represents a $200 price drop.
