 QuickPopup 4.0 Released
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
February 5th 2003

Get secure messaging for your office, school or home networks

Kanex Group has introduced QuickPopup 4.0. This new version allows users securely
exchange popup messages over corporate, school and home networks without connecting to
the internet.

Because QuickPopup messages don't need the internet to be transmitted and are always
encrypted, they're both fast and private. No third-party accounts are required and
that can greatly enhances reliability and security.

Moreover, as this app doesn't require complicated installation, setup or special
training, it "can be deployed in minutes," according to the company. Further, with
compatibility with the Mac OS from 7.5 through the current version of X, as well as
Linux and Windoze OS', it's an attractive choice for cross-platform settings in
creative, production, trade, healthcare, legal, financial and other professional
environments.

Pricing starts at $15 per copy with deep discounts for site licenses and educational
institutions. A 30-day trial version of QuickPopup 4.0 is available, here.

Editor's note: This tool is nifty but lacks a very, very important feature
person-to-person file transfers. If you're on a large network and transfers to file
servers is many times faster than peer-to-peer transfers (ie a Windoze network), you
need a way to move files about without mounting volumes or seeking out obscure network
folders.
