Electric Rain say Swift 3D 3.O for X coming
By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac
February 25th 2003
Popular 3D Flash application will leverage X's advanced features
Electric Rain has announced the upcoming release of Swift 3D 3.0 for OS X. Swift 3D is
a standalone application for designers to build and export 3D animations to the Flash
(SWF) file format, as well as other major vector and raster formats. Swift 3D for X
will be available late spring as a free upgrade to existing Swift 3D 3.0 users.
"Electric Rain is proud to broaden its support for the Mac community by making Swift
3D available for Mac OS X," said Mike Soucie, president. "Swift 3D is a powerful 3D
authoring tool that becomes even more compelling when paired with Mac OS X and its
advanced capabilities."
The OS X version of Swift 3D will offer significant advantages over previous versions
by utilizing X's dynamic memory management and multi-tasking capabilities, providing
faster rendering speeds and enhanced workflow.
The X version of Swift 3D 3.0 will be available in late spring and will be a free
upgrade for owners of Swift 3D 3.0 for Mac. The SRP for Swift 3D 3.0 is $169.00 for
the download and boxed CD version. Upgrades from previous versions of Swift 3D are
$89.00.
Editor's note: Though X still lacks in a number of areas, it's protected memory,
multitasking and nearly crash-proof architecture are definitely pulling in the pros.
Those still working to get X versions of their bread-n-butter apps are putting a lot
of (marketing) effort into mollifying anxious users.
