Attention PowerBook Owners: Connect to ADC, DVI via CardBus

Now you can connect your PowerBook G3, early TiBook to any external LCD screen.
Pismo, Lombard, Wallstreet - even first-generation Titanium owners - rejoice.
Want to connect to external ADC or DVI displays? Well you can, you know. In April.
Better still, the PC version doesn't even come out until June.
VTBookDD is short for the VillageTronic Notebook Desktop Doubler. A Cardbus video
card, equipped with 32MB DDR memory, it supports any VGA, DVI or ADC-equipped display
[ADC requires adapter]. And - hold onto your hats - it supports not only OS X, but OS
9 and 8 as well. Impressed yet? There's more.
Naturally, it provides an expanded desktop. And there's not even a cable dongle to
worry about. The VTBooDD card also auto-senses the type of display and will adjust
resolution accordingly. It's also hot-pluggable.
The key specifications are:
� Vertical refresh rates: 25Hz ... 160 Hz
� Horizontal scan rates: 31 kHz ... 137 kHz
� Resolutions: 512x 348 ... 2048 x 1536
� Maximum res. @ 75 Hz: 1600x 1200
� Maximum res. in 16M colors: 2048x 1536
No price has been announced as yet.
Analysis: This sounds like an exceptional product, and they're not a vaporware
company, having produced PCI graphics upgrade cards. MacBidouille speculate that it
might give OS X users with low-end G3s/G4s Quartz Extreme support, at least on
external displays, but that the PowerBook processors themselves might be limiting
factors. Perhaps. The GPU may be an ATI Radeon or an nVidia GeForce 2MX, but 32MB
would bring these 'Books up to iBook and base PowerBook spec for external displays at
least. Provided the price is right, this sounds like quite a product.
