Forbes: Jobs' Approval Rating at 84%
By Remy Davison, Insanely Great Mac
March 4th 2003
The $1-per-year iCEO is also Mr. Popularity.
One of Forbes' 400 Richest Americans, America's Most Powerful People and World's
Richest People is a man you all know and love. iCEO Steve.
In a horribly unscientific, vote-for-most-popular CEO contest, Forbes has a page which
allows you to vote once per month (or several times, presumably, if you have access to
a few computers) in a 'Rate the CEO' poll.
He may not be Mr. Congeniality, but Jobs currently leads the tech CEOs with a whopping
84% approval rating. Poor old Steve Ballmer isn't very popular at all, with a mere
31%, while Carly Fiorina at HP lags with 41%. Larry Ellison of Oracle scores a 'D'
with 53%, and we'll look for improvement in his work next month. Or he could just copy
Steve Jobs' homework.
Analysis: This is a pretty pointless exercise, but I guess we could all just hoof on
over there and get Steve's approval up into the 90s or something. We can't see Bill
G's name up there, but guess that MS shareholders can't be that happy.
