Formac lowers display prices

These are the only third-party flat-panel displays available with Apple Display
Connectors (ADC)
Formac has reduced prices on its gallery 1740 and gallery 2010 flat panel displays by
up to $300. These models are the only third-party LCD monitors that are available with
the mothership's proprietary Apple Display Connectors, which consolidate power,
display and USB signaling into a single cable and connector.
The gallery 1740 is a 17.4-inch digital flat panel display that incorporates two
industry breakthroughs: Fujitsu's Multi Domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) TFT and
Formac's own 24-bit digital graphics technology. Both technologies combined allow
the gallery LCD to outperform comparable displays in video and picture quality with
the industry's best brightness, contrast ratio and pixel response time at resolutions
of up 1280 x 1024. This model was $899 and now sells for $699.
The Formac gallery 2010 is a 20.1-inch digital flat panel display with new LCD
technology: Fujitsu's Multi Domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) Premium TFT, which sets
new benchmarks for viewing angle, brightness, contrast ratio and pixel response time,
and Formac's 24-bit digital graphics technology. Formac gallery 2010 supports a true
resolution of 1,600 by 1,200. This model was $1,699 and now sells for $1,399.
Both the gallery 1740 and 2010 are Pantone compatible ? meaning they're some of the
very few color-correct LCD monitors available.
Editor's note: Formac's 20.1-inch display costs $100 than Apple's 20-inch model.
However, the Formac model offers the aforementioned Pantone compatibility, whereas
Apple's 20-inch offers a wider aspect ratio that's better for movie playback.
Both compannies' 17-inch models carry the same price and max resolution. Again, the
Formac offers Pantone compatibility.
