The mothership reclaims an alumni with roots in Newton development

News.com reports that Steve Sakoman is returning to Apple. His most recent position
was with PalmSource, the developer of Palm OS software, and in the more distant past
as a part of the team that created the mothership's ill-fated Newton PDA.

"A lot of great people are coming to Apple for the opportunity to do innovative work
like we are doing with Mac OS X and some of our other core technologies," Apple said
in a statement quoted by News.com.

Sakoman will take part in OS X development and will report to Apple senior vice
president Avie Tevanian.
