Microsoft readying Hebrew, Arabic version of Office?

Reportedly a new version that supports the ancient language 'will be announced in the
next few weeks'
The Register reports that sources close to Apple Europe are "adamant that a version of
Office X that supports the reading and writing of documents in Hebrews "will be
announced within the next few weeks."
Reportedly the move is in response to the Israeli Anti-Trust Commission's probe into
the Apple-Microsoft relationship.
The Register and its readers have been vocal proponents of the creation of a version
of Office X that supports right-to-left languages, such as Hebrew and Arabic which
share similar roots.
In related news, The Register report also states that a right-to-left language version
of Sun's StarOffice is expected to be available by the end of the year or early 2003.
Editor's note: This report of course calls into question whether or not Office X 2003,
which punters say will arrive in the Summer, may actually be the vehicle upon which a
Hebrew and Arabic compatibility arrives. In the vast scheme of things, these two
languages probably don't warrant a separate develop program.
Although "illegal," there is a patch for Chinese, which also is notably lacking from
the MacBU's supported-language list.
