By ron carlson, Insanely Great Mac

This year's awards feature a new category, server solutions, and are focussed squarely
on Mac OS X
Apple has announced the Eighth Annual Apple Design Awards, which this year is focused
exclusively on Mac OS X.
"The Apple Design Awards recognize innovation, advanced Mac OS X look and feel, use of
Apple technologies in our developers' Mac OS X-based products, and new, exciting, and
high quality product entries to the Mac OS X market, including an all new Server
Solution category," Apple states.
Seven Apple Design Award winners and seven runners-up will be announced in the
following categories:
... Best Mac OS X Product
... Best Mac OS X Student Product
... Best Mac OS X User Experience
... Best Mac OS X Technology Adoption
... Best Mac OS X Use of Open Source
... Best Mac OS X Server Solution
... Most Innovative Mac OS X Product
In addition to hardware prizes, winners will receive a trophy and the right to use the
associated prize logo to market their products, not to mention the hard-won respect of
their peers. Runners-up will receive an award as well as the right to use the
associated prize logo to market their products.
Editor's note: So, my fellow erudite Insanely-Great Mac readers which Mac OS X
products most deserve Apple's recognition for excellence? Perhaps, more importantly
which Mac OS X product deserve our derision?
In the good category, I'll pick Safari and Camino.
In the bad category, Acrobat comes immediately to mind.
What's your take?
