DP 1.42GHz Power Mac Goes From 6-Week Wait to 'Available Immediately'?

Fastest Power Mac ever now seems to be shipping.
Following their February announcement, the DP 1.42GHz Power Mac G4s appear ready to
ship, notes MacBidouille. The site noted the AppleStore was promising immediate
availability.
But a quick trip to the AppleStore this morning revealed that the situation may have
changed in the last few hours. An order for a 'fastest' DP 1.42GHz with stock
specification brought up a 7-10 day wait on shipping.
This could indicate that Apple has been overwhelmed with orders for the revved Power
Macs, which now feature FireWire 800 and BlueTooth, as well as faster processors.
Analysis: For the sake of Apple's revenue numbers, as well as its Pro customers and
Power Mac sales volumes, we trust there won't be the same sorts of delays we seem to
be seeing with the PowerBook-17. While on that topic, yesterday I received an
invitation to my local Apple store to check out the new PB-17 in the metal. I showed
up today and - no surprises there - there were none. Not even a demo. Not sold. Just
hadn't arrived. Yet.
