I don't have an answer but I sympathize. I have yet to use a browser that feels 
like it scales to the dozens of windows I have open. The UI doesn't scale, and 
the performance doesn't scale (the bogging down you mentioned).

Just today I relaunched a browser and audio started playing from one of the 
tabs it had reopened. I think it was a YouTube window. I was annoyed because 
one reason I installed a Flash blocker was to prevent auto-play, and also 
because I could not figure out for the life of me which tab was the source. The 
windows were very sluggish as they were all busy reloading, so cycling through 
them was painful.
