Were 5.6.1 moldy already, I might agree with you. Given the recentness of 5.8, I don't consider it to be. A lot of people didn't upgrade to 5.6 until 5.6.1, and not without reason. I consider 5.8.0 to still be in the "if you need the new features, upgrade, otherwise it's optional" phase.
