The patch didn't work for me out of the box either. However, Mike Bombich suggests running 'sudo gcc_select 3' before make test

I actually did i before the make - but everything seems to be working fine.
This worked, thanks. It's interesting that it means that I've compiled it with gcc 3.1 instead of 2.95.2.
