JPEG was designed to be a compression format for photographic material, and doesn't handle other types of material nearly as well. Which is only natural, I suppose, as it's a product of the Joint Photographic Experts Group.
Any opinions as to which of the supported formats might work better?
Either GIF or PNG are much better choices for line drawings, cartoons, or other images with large solid blocks of continuous color.
